Untreated lignin may contain insects and eggs, and the risk of introducing harmful organisms is high. It will break the ecological balance of the importing country, lead to biological invasion, and may cause serious harm to agriculture and forest resources. USDA has issued guidelines to reduce the risk of imported pests in wood packaging. Since wooden packaging is often reused, the true source is difficult to determine, so its handling status is difficult to determine.
Therefore, the United States Department of Agriculture adopted the International Standard for Wood Packaging adopted by the Interim Plant Protection Committee of the International Plant Protection Convention on March 15, 2002. By adopting this international standard, the US government has coordinated trade requirements with other countries that have adopted ISPM15 or are preparing to adopt this international standard. In order to standardize the wood packaging entering North America, the International Plant Quarantine Measures No. 15 standard will be implemented on September 16, 2005 in the United States, Mexico, and North Canada. Entry wood packaging will be quarantined in accordance with the US Customs and Border Protection Administration operating guidelines and procedures. In order to avoid the delay or refusal of entry of wood packaging of goods in US ports due to violation of regulations, the importer should confirm that all wood packaging has been processed and marked in accordance with ISPM15 and APHIS.
1. The raw material of the fumigation-free tray is composite board or plywood, and the raw material is formed by sterilizing high temperature and high pressure with various wooden residues.
2. There are two main treatment methods: heat treatment and fumigation with methyl bromide. For heat treatment and wood packaging, the center temperature of the wood should reach 56OC and be kept for at least 30 minutes. For fumigation, the wood packaging must be fumigated for at least 16 hours at a prescribed methyl bromide dose, and then placed in a ventilated place so that The concentration of its fumigant fell below the safe concentration. After any of the above treatments, on the visible position of each product in the wooden packaging, it is best to mark a clear and permanent mark on the front and back of each product. This mark needs to be subject to the International Plant Protection Convention. Approval to prove that the wood packaging has been processed as prescribed. A mark must include an IPPC-specific mark, an ISO-standard country code, a unique number issued to a wood packaging manufacturer by the country ’s plant protection agency, and an abbreviation representing the processing method. Fumigation-free tray products generally meet the entry and environmental protection requirements of countries around the world, and can be directly cleared in the importing country without any formalities
